Jamboree on the Trail May 8
Jamboree On The Trail is an annual day for the World Scout Movement to hike together. All Scouts, whatever their age and wherever they may be in the world, are invited to participate in whatever way they can. Cubs and younger Scouting sections could visit a local nature trail as part of a weekend camp. A Scout Troop might check out a hiking trail while working on badge requirements. A Rover Crew might make a Service Project out of restoring or maintaining a hiking trail. In their own way, everyone will be hiking the same direction: towards a better future through Scouting. JOTT is held on the second Saturday of May each year.
This is a world-wide event with Scouts in dozens of countries all hiking on this day. Want to learn more? Go to the official JOTT website at http://jott.org/
Want to register your Scout group? Go to the US registration page at http://jott.org/Registration?country=US

Centennial Service Day April 24
Boy Scouts have always made a difference in their town and in the world around them. “Do a Good Turn” is not just a slogan – it is a way of life! During WWII, Scouts held paper drives and sold bonds. In 2008, Boston Minuteman Council OA Scouts traveled to Utah to help the Park Service clear invasive brush. When a project needs to be done, you can find Scouts there! Now it’s time for Scouts to step up and join us for a nation-wide Centennial Day of Service.During the Centennial Day of Service, you and your Scout troop can make a real difference. Join in and clean up your local park. Plant trees at a school. Clean up a state beach or repair picnic tables. Clear brush or make a path wheelchair accessible at a national park. Whatever your interest, there is a project that needs YOUR help!
Join a planned project or create one of your own! Sign up at www.bsaboston.org today and make a difference for tomorrow!
